

Between the Arve river and the lake Annecy cluse, this mountain Bornes-Aravis lives to he rhythm of logging, dairy cow breeding, cheesemaking and tourism. Its valleys alternate between smilling pastures, chalet villages and typical farming hamlets.

Between Geneva and the Massif of Aravis, the name of PETIT-BORNAND already known by the Romans, comes from the river " Le Borne". LES GLIERES was added in 1945.
PETIT-BORNAND was free before the French revolution burst, and became an important historic site after the 2 nd world war. Today, the municipality account 1000 inhabitants and it saw the birth of some famous characters such as Michel Carquillat (weaver), Guillaume Fichet (creator of the industrial printing office).
François de Sales leaved here so and was the paster. This village lives on tourism, on agriculture, on horticulture and on the work of the wood.
